My Fantastic Flowers paintings represent something very special to me. Having spent my life creating quite detailed, small pieces of art, it was quite a revelation and an exciting development for me a couple of years ago when I started to feel a really strong urge to paint on a large scale - arm's length kind of large! Eventually, I created my first big paintings and enjoyed every minute (you can read more about my Fantastic Flowers journey in The Fantastic Flowers (2)).
But I'd been so excited by the idea of painting big that it took a while to dawn on me that not everybody wants an 80cm canvas on their wall! And even if they do, they might not have the space to display one. So I decided to paint some smaller pictures to make my originals more accessible to more people. And now I have a whole range of sizes available.
I really love painting my big pictures, but I found additional interesting challenges in translating what I do on a large scale down to a medium or small scale and to still have the artwork looking like it fits with the rest of the series. So I hope you like these paintings. They're all equally enjoyable for me to do, and I hope that shows in the results.
